Mixing music can be like food that takes you on a journey (05 Mar 21)

Even a simple salad can take your tastebuds on a wonderful journey when prepared well.  Been spending a lot of time this week reviewing the mixes of future and past releases, and I must say we have had some lessons learned along the way. First “Remember your product is a representation of you so give it 100 plus %,  that is no settling on the the sound you want to walk away with.”  Sometimes you have to step away because you may be too close to your creation and miss things that need to be corrected in the mix. For at the end of day, it’s all about the presentation, like a well prepared salad .not just thrown together but arranged where hopefully it will take the listeners on a journey that they may want to take again  – “Play it again Sam”.  With that said, I’m going to remix our first release after our current project is completed and released.  There are some hidden jewels in there.  Just have to arrange the mix so when they listen,  they will discover the journey we want to take them on -like a well mixed or better yet prepared salad.
